We believe a meal is a social experience. It is a time to connect with others, rejuvenate the spirit and nurture the body. With that in mind we focus on preparing good nutritious food that is pleasing to the eye and comforting to the soul. We make every attempt to accommodate individual dietary needs.
Northaven Assisted Living is a small community. It soon feels like family. Everyone gets three meals a day, and the dining room becomes a place of conversation and connection. Everyone gets to see each other. People are welcome to linger over coffee and dessert. When people are not well or recuperating from a hospital visit, our staff gladly brings meals to residents in their apartments.
At Northaven Independent Living residents have the ability to cook in their apartments. However, all residents must buy the evening meal five days a week. This policy is our commitment to helping everyone maintain good nutrition. Residents have the option to take the meal to their apartment, but we encourage everyone to eat in the dining room. The conversation improves appetite. The socialization that happens over dinner helps people stay connected and improves one’s mood.
At Independent Living, people are living a very active lifestyle. So we try to keep up with their pace. In addition to dinner in the dining room, you can pick up your meal at our satellite fridge, or for those who can’t leave their apartment, we offer delivery service free of charge. So whether you still have a job, want to sit with friends, or just feel better, we have an option for you.
