Daily Life

A broad array of events and activities offer something for everyone. Fitness classes, current events, volunteer opportunities, spiritual activities, walking tours, bus trips and social events provide a rich and stimulating environment.

Every independent living apartment has its own kitchen but our full service dining room also offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for those who no longer are able to cook or for those times when you just don’t want to cook. Our evening meal is mandatory for everyone living at Northaven. We do this so everyone eats at least one healthy meal per day and to encourage social interaction. We offer lots of choices and work with people to accommodate many special dietary needs.

All meals are provided at Northaven Assisted Living.

“As my daughters and I left the lobby three years ago after touring Northaven for the first time, all three of us knew it was the place for me!

We felt the friendliness, camaraderie, warmth and caring of the people living there.

I love the diversity, the many new friends I’ve made, the abundance of activities, the many opportunities to volunteer. I feel so spoiled being able to call maintenance for anything that goes wrong in my apartment. They’re ready to serve so cheerfully. We’re not chewed out if we lock ourselves out of our apartments.

I take advantage of as many exercise classes as I can squeeze into a week; a twice-monthly current events speaker; vespers on Sunday evenings. And my favorite is teaching a Spanish class to the most eager residents.

We have a beautiful dining room. We get such nutritious meals, attractively served, such variety of choices. It’s wonderful having someone else do the cooking whenever I don’t want to cook in my apartment!”
